Happy Poetry Friday! (Wondering what Poetry Friday is? Click here.)
In a couple of weeks, an anthology called One Minute Till Bedtime (Little, Brown), edited by former Children’s Poet Laureate Kenn Nesbitt, comes out. It’s already gotten a starred review from Kirkus (woohoo!), and I can’t wait to get my copy on November 1, publication day! Here’s my contribution to this anthology of all new poems from all kinds of poets.
Our wings are leathery
Sheets of stretch
We carve the sky
At night we etch
A trail through twilight

And for more poetry fun, don’t miss the Poetry Friday Roundup. Irene Latham at Live Your Poem is hosting, and she always has wonderful thoughts and poems to share.
