Howdy, friends. This week, I’m sharing an old poem, because it recently found a new little audience. I wrote this spoof in 2009, inspired by Tricia Stohr-Hunt. (More details back here.)

Laura: I love this, and I love writing to songs also. This one is a big lift, but you rose to the challenge! I especially love bathing suit fitting with little resistance. Hahaha. YESSS. Thanks for the fun and the laughter…

Once long ago in a writing camp, we did a favorite things activity and poem writing. I’d love to use this as a mentor text this year with my students. So happy it found a good home for a wonderful cause.
I remember having my students take the tune and rhythm of the Gilligan’s Island theme song and write a spoof or something. They had so much fun with that!
