Shoot! I just realized I haven’t done this week’s Poetry Stretch from the Miss Rumphius Effect yet! It’s a photopoetry challenge this week–I love that!
When I first glanced at the picture, I thought those were pigs on the ground. I’m relieved to see that they’re really yams. I decided to write a haiku about this evocative image:
a small turquoise sea
ripples in the desert breeze
oasis of cool
