I had read Sandra Markle’s Toad Weather, and I was just in a mood to play with words, so I started jotting. Out came “toads” with “toes,” and “toads” with “roads,” and “herds” with “hurry.” I followed the syllable count of a cinquain here, but that’s a form I really like, and this poetryaction doesn’t do justice to a cinquain. In other words, it doesn’t use the line breaks or lengths in a particularly meaningful or impactful way. So, even though it’s technically a cinquain, it’s not a shining example of one, certainly! But it’s a reaction to literature, and it made me connect with Markle’s fun book even more.

I love How that words sound reading them this is wonderful ( why do I always have to reenter every when I leave a replay it is like that for 15 word also )

Yep, I have no idea. I don’t have any setting clicked that requires people to fill things out, except the very first time they Comment. That first time, I have to approve it. After that, Comments go live automagically. I don’t know why it’s not remembering you from one Reply to the next, and I don’t have any control over specifically Reply settings (only Comments in general, and there’s nothing I see that could affect this). Sorry it’s such a pain!

It does ‘sound’ good, Laura. I’m glad you connected to this fun book. For the first time in weeks, starting last night, we have “toad” weather, & it’s heavenly. It’s supposed to rain all day & we do need it.
Oh, lovely–I would like a nice heavy rain for a few days before we head into winter…
“Toad Weather” and those polka-dot boots really catch one’s eye. For starters, I’d pick it up out of curiosity. Love good, oddball covers.
