It’s Monday! What Are You Reading?
I’ve read lots of great books lately, mostly, of course, picture books, though I haven’t stopped by #IMWAYR in a while. Here are 5 2017 picture books I’ve given 5 stars to in Goodreads.
Caring for Your Lion – Fun structure and super humor!
Noah Webster’s Fighting Words – Fascinating (even to a non-history buff) story of how our words and particular American style of spelling matter, with guest appearances from a rather conceited Noah.
We’re All Wonders – The message every single kid needs to hear and absorb.
The Youngest Marcher – Story of unbelievable courage and an excellent example of taking tough, scary topics and making them work for kids!
Big Cat, Little Cat – Yep, I cried. And with Jack, my beagle, not doing so well, this hit extra close to home. A beautifully told story about life and death.
I feel lucky to have SO many fantastic books available to read and share! It’s so inspiring to me as a children’s author:>)
It’s Monday! What are you Reading? is a meme hosted by Kathryn at Book Date. It is a great way to recap what you read and/or reviewed the previous week and to plan out your reading and reviews for the upcoming week. It’s also a great chance to see what others are reading right now…you just might discover your next “must-read” book!
Jen Vincent (stole the above paragraph from her) at Teach Mentor Texts rounds up the kidlit version of IMWAYR each week.
