Water Can Be…

Water Can Be…

Water Can Be...

Water can be a…Thirst quencher…Kid drencher…Cloud fluffer…Fire snuffer…

Maybe you thought water was just for drinking and baths. But it does so much more! It gives us sprinklers to run through and ice cubes to cool our drinks and comfort owies. It shifts from water to fog to snow and ice. It gives life but also creates monstrous storms. Find out about the many roles water plays in this brief, poetic exploration of water throughout the year. Backmatter gives more thorough information.

4th-Grade Digital Collages Inspired by Water Can Be…

Rogers Elementary School’s Technology/Media Literacy Specialist Megan Bateman emailed me:

Your book Water Can Be…was a good fit for cross-curricular integration with our fourth grade water unit.  Please enjoy these collages (inspired by your book) that the fourth grade students created in my Media/Technology class.
I love how each student’s viewpoint and personality comes through in their choices of fonts, images, and words. Thank you, Megan and fourth-graders!

JUNE NEWS

I'm updating early for June--and my busy summer is shaping up! During June and July, Yvonne Pearson and I will be co-presenting a For the Love of Loons storytime at all 14 branches of the East Central Regional Library system in Minnesota. Want to hear two great picture books and learn about loons? Check out the schedule here!

Secrets of the Loon

I'll also be visiting 3 Dakota County Libraries (MN) with storytimes centered around We Belong and self-worth and identity. Check out the details here!

More exciting news? There's going to be a Korean-language edition of Snowman-Cold=Puddle. I adore seeing my books reach kids across the world!
